Primary Duties and Responsibilities: To assist with the planning and execution of artwork installation for Cleve Carney Museum of Art, Wings Student Gallery, and COD Permanent Art Collection.
Assist with coordination of exhibition receptions and events.Assist with installation of artwork in museum.Greet visitors and watch gallery space.Coordinate installation needs and schedules with exhibiting artists.Install permanent collection artworks around campus.Paint and patch museum walls.Problem solve unique or unexpected artwork installation requests.Help with movement, storage, and inventory of artworks.Gallery sit when needed.Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Education
- High School diploma required.
- BA or BFA in Art, Art History, or related field preferred.
- Experience
- Familiarity with carpentry tools required.
- Familiarity with proper handling and installation of artworks required.
- Excellent customer service required.
- Prior preparatory experience preferred.
- Experience in gallery, museum, or other contemporary art setting preferred.
Working Conditions: MAC computers, power drills, level, hammer, ladder, and other basic installation tools.Primarily in gallery and musuem setting.Occasional outdoor work.Occasional lifting of objects over 30 pounds and work on ladders.Some required night and weekend hours.This position requires a background check and drug screen.
Hiring Range: Classified 7 Hourly/16.01 - 17.50
