The University of Washington (UW) Division of General Pediatrics (Department of Pediatrics), in collaboration with the Center for Child Health, Behavior, and Development (CCHBD) at Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI), invites applications for a full-time pediatric environmental health faculty position as Assistant Professor WOT (without tenure due to funding) on the Faculty-Scientist track. This position will specialize in child environmental health and epidemiology with an emphasis on one or more of the following topics: endocrine disrupting chemicals, diet/nutrition, social and environmental disparities, climate change, data science, intervention research, and policy/translation.
Faculty will be based at the Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI). SCRI is ranked 4th in NIH pediatric research funding and provides a rich, vibrant, and collaborative environment. SCRI has excellent facilities that foster close relationships between clinical, translational, and basic science researchers. In 2023, SCRI had more than $253 million in extramural research expenditures (including over $120 million in federal funding). With a workforce greater than 2400, the research institute fosters a cutting-edge academic environment, supporting multidisciplinary research, collaboration, and professional development. SCRI is organized into interdisciplinary research centers and has many resources for investigators including a statistical and analytic core, research computing core, pilot funding, and clinical and behavioral laboratory space to conduct study visits.
All UW faculty based at SCRI engage in research, teaching, mentorship, and service. Faculty in the UW Division of General Pediatrics are dedicated clinicians, educators, and researchers who advance child health (55 faculty), with research and clinical connections to Seattle Children's, Harborview Medical Center, Odessa Brown Children's Clinic, and other clinical sites. SCRI partners with the University of Washington Department of Environmental Occupational Health Sciences within the School of Public Health, the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and several prominent biotechnology institutions. Faculty positions include salary support and seed packages.

Assistant Professor's are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Anticipated start date is Spring/Summer 2025.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors MD/DO $12,010 - $18,014 per month ($144,120 - $216,168 annually), Assistant Professors PhD $10,417 - $12,917 per month ($125,004 - $155,004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field (or foreign equivalent). An MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) with relevant research expertise is also acceptable.
